    GENOA — Eastwood’s Luke Coffman won the Northern Buckeye Conference boys cross country championship, but
    Otsego featured three top-1o finishers in edging the Eagles for the boys team title at Genoa High School
    on Saturday.
    Woodmore had the first three finishers in the girls race, but Genoa had all five runners in the top-12 to
    narrowly claim the girls title.
    Otsego had 47 points for the boys title, edging Eastwood (56) and Woodmore (65). Genoa (71) was fourth
    followed by Rossford (136), Elmwood (155) and Fostoria (194).
    Genoa took the girls title with 37 points with Woodmore (39) in second. Eastwood (63) was third followed
    by Elmwood (95), Otsego (124) and Rossford (176).
    Eastwood’s Coffman won the boys crown by 17 seconds, finishing the race in 16:40.
    Ashton Serrato, an Otsego junior, spearheaded the Knights’ team championship as one of two runners to
    finish under 17 minutes with a 16:57.
    Ian Wallace (17:30) and Gabriel Simpson (17:50) finished seventh and 10th for Otsego, while Jason Jones
    (18:02) and Joseph Brewster (18:22) also ran to 12th- and 16th-place finishes.
    Cory Jay was the next best placer for Eastwood’s boys at eighth in a time of 17:36. Also scoring was
    Dylan Brogan (17:56) in 11th, Lucas Pease (18:05) in 13th and Ashton Hill (18:46) was 23rd.
    Rossford junior Ethan Neblock led the Bulldogs with a sixth-place finish in a time of 17:29.
    Kelly Veryser led Eastwood in the girls race, finshing ninth with a time of 21:58. The Eagles’ Noelle
    Hayes was not far behind in 11th at 22:33.
    Otsego was led by Isabella Mancuso (22:35) in 12th and Anna Allison paced Elmwood in 14th with a time of
    22:37.
    NLL Championships
    SYLVANIA — Perrysburg swept the Northern Lakes League cross country championships at Sylvania Northview
    High School on Saturday.
    The Yellow Jackets’ boys used a dominant one-two punch to win the boys race, while their seven girls all
    finished in the top-12 to win the title.
    Perrysburg’s boys nearly cut second-place Bowling Green’s points in half, winning by a 43-84 margin.
    Sylvania Northview was third with 93 points.
    Perrysburg’s girls had just 30 points, easily beating out Anthony (67) for the team championship. Bowling
    Green finished fifth with 108 points.
    Marc Baroncini won the individual boys championship with a first-place finish in a time of 16:14.20 to
    lead the Yellow Jackets.
    Austin Cunningham, Baroncini’s teammate, finished second with a time of 16:32.20 to help carry Perrysburg
    to the team title. Ben Keller (16:55.30) placed fifth, Alex Montross (17:33.30) was 17th and Kieffer
    Doore (17:33.80) placed 18th.
    Gavin Lammers led the BG boys team, finishing sixth in a time of 17:01.50. Teammate Aaron Partin
    (17:15.80) was ninth and Thomas Rigel (17:23.10) was 11th.
    Perrysburg’s girls team was led by Aubrey Duhaime’s second-place finish in a time of 19:12.40 — behind
    Northview’s Emma Steingass (18:52.90).
    Also in the top five for the Yellow Jackets was Destiney Rose (19:57.20) in fourth and Brooke Daudelin
    (19:58.30) in fifth. Also scoring was Ella Sibbersen (20:23.00) in ninth and Olivia Fenneken (20:24.40)
    in 10th.
    Brynna Gaines paced Bowling Green, finishing in eighth with a time of 20:19.30. Sarah Davis (21:00.70)
    was 16th and Anna Zemaitis (21:02.50) finished in 17th.
    Girls Tennis
    Division I district tournament
    PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg’s duo of Sydney Onest and Lydia Ellinger combined to run through the Division I
    district tournament, clinching their spot at state with a win on Saturday.
    Onest and Ellinger, who had lost just four games through two matches earlier in the tournament, defeated
    Northview duo of Lauren Loss and Brynn Chaffee in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
    Perrysburg’s dominant doubles team will play at the state tournament, which runs Friday and Saturday
    (Oct. 18-19) at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.
