I've wondered for years now if she had to put out to Steven Segal for that role in Under Siege 2.

DL pegged her as a cunt almost immediately. When DL takes an instant dislike to you and you're not overweight or a person of color, you know something is up.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 30, 2018 6:23 AM |
assholism was infectious on that set, isiah washington was canned for bad behavior , he used homophobic slurs during a dispute with patrick dempsey. ten years later patrick dempsey was acting up on set causing problems for the show's creator.
dempsey and heigel were washed up before they landed that gig, a little gratitude is in order. Washington was a working actor but not a household name.

They still publish TV Guide?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 30, 2018 6:36 AM |
It's too late for her. If she had owned up to it years ago she'd be okay now, but she's waited so long and was such a jerk to so many people.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 30, 2018 6:42 AM |
She is making amends after pulling a Suzanne Somers and leaving Grey's but it's too late. I'm surprised she hasn't been blacklisted completely from the industry. She still was given lead roles on State of Affairs and Doubt years after her Grey's stunt. Both series failed miserably of course, but she seems to have landed nicely on her feet by getting a regular stint on Suits, which is an established series on USA now.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 30, 2018 6:46 AM |
What she really means is:
"My career went nowhere, no one will hire me for high profile roles, so feigning remorse about acting like a self-entitled bitch is my last ditch effort to salvage it."
Too little, too late.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | July 30, 2018 6:48 AM |

In that last movie she did with Ashton Kuchner she looked like his mother. And as about as sexy.

Yeah, I don't think she's considered A-List.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | July 30, 2018 8:54 AM |
She was well on her way to being A list, she was getting lead parts in movies, but she got way too big for her boots, forgot that pretty blondes are a dime a dozen in Hollywood and therefore completely replaceable. She found out the hard way.
It’s too late now to be sorry, the A list ship has sailed, she needs to just be grateful she gets any work.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 30, 2018 10:03 AM |
I never heard of her before Grey's. And then they stuck her in that "Dizzy" idiocy. I was done with her and the show long before the rest of the world wrote her (and it) off. HTF did it stay so popular?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 30, 2018 10:54 AM |
A-List?
Apart from Grey's Anatomy and Knocked Up, she hasn't been in anything of note.

The generation of Heigl and the ones after her haven't brought about any big stars anymore, except imo maybe a few athletes and Britney Spears and maybe Taylor Swift, also considering the international market, Europe isn't as movies positive, she was a big star; e.g. a feuilletonist called her the last diva.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | July 30, 2018 4:38 PM |
A - list? She was never A - list. She was on the verge of becoming maybe B - list but she ruined that. She is now D - list, with a terrible reputation.
R3 Patrick Dempsey also has a terrible reputation and his poor behavior didn’t start 10 yrs after the altercation with Isaiah Washington. The altercation was about his poor behavior and his poor treatment of his co-workers. He was always a jack ass. Washington was fed up and he told him so.

I know I'm going to get spit roasted for this, but I don't care.
I think Katherine Heigl used that TR Knight situation and blew it up and out of proportion to raise her own profile. What IW was trying to say was that he wasn't going to just let PD walk all over him like TR allowed PD to walk all over him. He could have used better language and maybe some sensitivity training, but I don't think he meant to call TR the F word in the way that it all eventually played out.
I think Heigl and her mother jumped on that and fanned the flames (no pun intended) and it became the mess that it became.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | July 30, 2018 5:04 PM |
She could win back to back Oscars and never be considered A-List.

by Anonymous | reply 39 | July 30, 2018 5:19 PM |
At what point do you stop blaming the mom for a 40 yr old woman’s behavior and choices.
America had no trouble accepting the idea that a dark skinned black man could be an asshole. But it cannot accept that a pretty blond white woman can be an asshole or an even bigger asshole. White blond women are sweet beautiful princesses, not villains.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | July 30, 2018 5:20 PM |

The majority of posters on this thread have called her out as an asshole.
America and Hollywood have as well, based on the fact that she has no career at this point.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | July 30, 2018 6:16 PM |
I definitely think there was a tiny window of opportunity for her to hit the A-list after she won her Emmy in 2007.
She could've easily had a similar career to Jennifer Lawrence if she played her cards right.
But she misjudged how finite that window actually was, pissed off the wrong people, and is now almost 40 and looks more like a Beverly Hills housewife than an actress.
Should've laid off the smoking and kissed Shonda Rhimes' fat ass.

Agree with r33. She kept inserting herself into the drama and found every reporter she could find to comment on Washington's behaviour. She tried to write it off as being a supportive friend to TR but it was all self-serving.

"America had no trouble accepting the idea that a dark skinned black man could be a homophobe". Fixed that for you R40. Oh, and Newsflash: America doesn't give a fuck if a white guy is called "f****t". The masses have always accepted and encouraged cruelty towards gay people. And the masses have always known it's quite possible that a pretty blonde white woman can be a really big pretty blonde white asshole. America loves assholes. Where the fuck have you been?

She's only regretting her cuntery because it didn't work out for her.
I watched an old rerun of Grey's Anatomy the other day and had completely forgotten the Issiah Washington issue, and I was struck by how how handsome he was but he totally set my (albeit probably dubious) gaydar off. Then when Pd appeared in the episode I remembered the controversy.
It was like that old 90's thing, things that make you go umm (or something).

I remember an old Tom Jones interview where the interviewer asked him how it was he hadn't changed , when other celebrities were prone to bad behaviour. He said that his theory is that the other people hadn't changed at all, they just could never have got away with that behaviour before they were famous.
I don't think he was wrong.

I love her. First of all, there’s something ever so slightly laughable and charming about a young person who acts entitled. It shows their naïveté. You know as an older person that they’ll have to come down to earth eventually. It’s like watching a comedy and you know something funny is about to happen to the protagonist. Actually, I thought the “difficult” label was just part of a schtick anyway. To differentiate herself from any other pretty blonde actress who might end up on Lifetime. She’s just as opinionated and outspoken as JLaw or Charlize. She’s not Meryl Streep, but so what? A-list is a passing parade for everybody. Eventually they all end up doing TV or commercials or QVC or CRAP, even Meryl. Trashing the movie that got her the Vanity Fair cover was priceless and endearing. Who else would have the nerve? I love a bold personality!
by Anonymous | reply 71 | November 12, 2018 3:19 AM |
I recall her blasting Isiah when he wouldn't shut up about how he never said anything wrong about T.R. so I can't say she's all bad.
Sidebar: my grip about Grey's is when the women would sleep with George they'd go to him a week later and say, sobbing, like SOBBING: "Sleeping with you George was THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE because you are my BEST FRIEND!"
They never felt that way about McSteamy, McDreamy or McCreamy, but George? MISTAKE!

Heigel was absolutely A-list for a time. She won an Emmy, starred in the number TV drama, did Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth, which together did half a billion dollars at the box office. It may not have lasted long, but she was definitely considered a-list.
That said, she needs to stop with these bi-annual apology tours. All they do is dredge up shit from 10-15 years ago. Emma Roberts beat the shit out of Evan Peters and bit his face and fucking nobody ever brings that up and she's working steadily. Lea Michele is a twat on set. Charlie Sheen was a coke monster and they paid him millions. Heigel fucked up. She's not the first and she won't be the last. Girl, move the fuck on and stop acting like you deserve to be publicly flogged.
