Today (Oct. 27), “CBS Mornings” released the second part of Gayle King’s special feature with JAY-Z.
During the interview, the Roc Nation boss revealed that he and Beyoncé had another name in mind for their first born, Blue Ivy Carter. “It was supposed to be Brooklyn,” the Grammy Award-winning rapper revealed. “That was the name we had in theory. But when we got the little sonograms, you know, they’re super small and we were calling her Blueberry. It was like a nickname. And for nine months we’re like, ‘Look at little Blueberry.’”

As perviously reported by HOT 97, in the first part of the feature, JAY-Z opened up about his relationship with his daughter Blue Ivy Carter, noting that it took her some time to get comfortable with coming to him for fashion advice. “She used to be frontin’ on me a little bit,” he said. “But I catch her. I catch her in the corner, you know? Now she asks me, if this is cool, if her sneakers or whatever she’s wearing. She’s come back. But there was a time, like, ‘Dad!’ I was like, ‘I’m cool, I don’t know what you’re saying,’” the Brooklyn native added while doing an impression of Blue Ivy covering her face in embarrassment.
