Iyo Sky has had a great wrestling career in her days in NXT. She has been the NXT Women’s Champion as well as the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. Currently signed in to the RAW brand of the company, she had her debut match in a recent RAW episode where she faced the WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair but the match ended due to interference.
Iyo recently returned to the WWE ring at SummerSlam 2022. She was accompanied by Bayley and Dakota Kai. The trio walked their way upto the ring after Bianca Belair defeated her title against Becky Lynch at the event. The trio had originally planned to attacked the champion but then Becky Lynch backed her up. The trio had no other option but to retreat.

Iyo Sky was out of action owing to injury
Iyo Sky opened up on the cause that caused her to stay away from the ring. Iyo had suffered a massive injury and had to undergo a surgery. She made her WWE main roster debut on the Monday Night RAW episode post SummerSlam 2022. She was performing in the NXT brand of the company before her main roster debut. Her last match in NXT was a fatal 4 way match for the NXT Women’s Championship. During the match, her leg hit the announcer’s desk and her right ankle broke up forcing her to undergo a surgery.
“I was referred to a ‘master ankle surgeon’ in Alabama, who is a WWE official. Now I have one bolt in to hold the bone in place. I was unable to put any weight on my right leg for about a month, and I had to use a crutch and a wheelchair. It took me about three months to be able to put my full weight on it,” Iyo Sky said.
Iyo was performing on NXT under the name of Io Shirai. Not only did she bring a new name for herself but also walked towards the ring as a new person. One could clearly see the confidence in her eyes as she stormed her way towards the ring. If she works with the same spirit she will soar to new heights. We will have to wait and see how the future shapes the rising star.
