Body found in Millard County believed to be that of missing man, deputies say

MILLARD COUNTY, Utah Deputies with the Millard County Sheriffs Office say a body has been recovered in the area where a missing mans truck was found earlier this month. Jonathan Barrett Brantley, 21, was reported missing on April 19 after his truck was found abandoned near theNotch Peak/Tule Valley area.

MILLARD COUNTY, Utah — Deputies with the Millard County Sheriff’s Office say a body has been recovered in the area where a missing man’s truck was found earlier this month.

Jonathan Barrett Brantley, 21, was reported missing on April 19 after his truck was found abandoned near the Notch Peak/Tule Valley area.

Deputies said the truck appeared to have been abandoned for an unknown amount of time and Brantley left his cell phone in the vehicle.

The body was found by hikers and recovered by county officials and search and rescue crews on Thursday.

Deputies said it appears to be Brantley but “a positive identification is pending and required prior to any further update.”

The Utah Office of the Medical Examiner is assisting in the investigation and efforts to positively identify the body.
